St Martin Church Ruins,

Shotesham

Research for on-site and online interpretation

In Summer 2022, a Heritage Lottery Fund grant was secured with the help of local support and other funding bodies for the restoration the ruined church of St Martin in Shotesham, Norfolk. The Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings carried out repairs over two working party weekends, while part of the grant money went towards the creation of new interpretation boards and online content to explain the significance of the church to the public. Alfie Robinson Heritage worked with Dr Nicholas Groves on archival research into the building (and its neighbour, St Mary’s), and producing the texts aimed at the public.
